Description

We are proud to be able to offer this tea it is known as North Star but we know it better as Beidou oolong. This tea has direct lineage from the Original DaHongPao plants and grows in the pristine region of Mt Wuyi. This particular varietal has minimal garden space at only .8 of an acre. Our Bediou comes from tea plants around 15 years old and grown at 300-450M in elevation.

The taste in this tea is notably balanced and very inviting.
It has hints of the DaHongPao profile but a stronger balance between fruity, roasted, and toffee sweetness. Truly a great energy with this one.

Bouquet: First without its steaming atmosphere you definitely get the ripe aged old woodsy red wine barrel scent plus a hint of “with red wine soaked up” cork. After heat kissed those gently big leaves you definitely get the fire and charcoal aspect with a nice middle strong campfire touch to it. The aroma is intense and thick. On one side with a thick dark ripe fruity aspect of with chocolate covered strawberries and tangerines but also because of the smokiness a very lovely Autumn baked potato or sweet potato flair to it. Sometimes especially in Europe at late Autumn or Winter times there are many small street food stalls selling steaming chestnuts or potatoes and that’s exactly the atmosphere I get through this wonderful Wuyi.

Liquor: The texture is very soft and creamy with such a complex and full bodied liquor to it! Taste-wise the roasted aspect is an overall layer which contains so much from the former named potato atmosphere but also a very chocolatey hazelnut cream one with fruity aspects of lychee, figs and raisins at the end of it. The Echo really floats long and persistent over this mountains of deliciousness. The mix between silky texture darker sweet or fruity aspects and steaming vegetable notes is just amazing! There is a very mouth watering slightly electrifying sourly feel to it which is fantastic and gives the whole experience a kind of an extra sensation. If you take quick steeps you can infuse this fellow around 4-5 full ones and 2-3 further bit lighter ones! Another great example of a well sourced Wuyi.
